transom - mullion connection

Unlike conventional systems, the transom is not attached to the mullion with the use
of screws or any kind of connecting blocks.
On both ends of the thermally broken transom, a special TPE end piece is installed.
These end pieces have a triple function
-
firstly, the function of a sliding piece in the mullion chambers whilst
installation of the transom
-
secondly, the creation of a watertight connection between the transom and the mullion
-
thirdly, to allow the absorption of differential movements of the building or
thermal dilatations or contractions
As such, the transom is pinched in the slots of the mullion and an optimum connection between transom and mullion is obtained :
-
following the x-axis (the longitudinal axis of the transom), the transom can dilate free
-
following the y-axis (the longitudinal axis of the mullion) the transom is perfectly blocked
-
following the z-axis (the axis perpendicular to the plane of the curtain wall) the transom is perfectly blocked as well
